Update on Grandma Schroeder....
Grandma was discharged from Ogden Regional Medical Center to Washington Terrace last night....hopefully she is in her new room, Gary is heading up there to check on things. Her UTI is cured, her kidneys are better but she still has a heart block and bradycardia (slow heart rate)... she is extremely confused right now...she pulled her IV out twice while in the hospital (things like that irritate her so she takes care of it by pulling it out) Her potassium was really low, but I assume they got it up past 3.5 since they let her go. We'll see how she does....thanks for the well wishes.

Grandma Schroeder is in the Hospital.........
Grandma got extremely disoriented so the nurse at Washington Terrace decided to check for the UTI...not only did she have a UTI, but she was extremely dehydrated and her kidneys were compromised. She was taken to Ogden Regional Medical Center across the street to be treated due to the fact that the usual treatment is to force fluids, problem with her is you don't force fluids on someone who also has congested heart failure...she needed total monitoring for her heart and lungs. She was admitted..
These were pictures of tonights visit. She didn't know either Gary or myself. Max came over for just a minute and she did know him. She is fidgety and nervous. As you see in these pictures (sorry they aren't real good...cell phone pics with the lights low) she looks really out of it...she is. Mumbling, talking to herself...no real communication with us at all. The cardiologist wants to meet with us tomorrow...he needs to discuss her heart. I already knew her heart was wearing out, I think it is worse now...tomorrow is going to be a long day. She needs some prayers..We know that the Lord is in charge of this and he will determine what the outcome will be...we are ok with whatever happens...she is tired...Gary and Trevor gave her a blessing...she has loved ones waiting on the other side for her with open arms and peace....I told her tonight it was ok for her to go to sleep..she nodded and said ok....go to sleep grandma..your little sister, brother, dad and mom and Dave are waiting for you....it's ok...

Women's Conference.......................
What a nice day...couldn't have asked for anything better! To start off, beautiful weather....wonderful women wanting to be "spiritually fed" (which they were) and good food! We met early to prepare the 'brunch' type food...yogurt parfaits, fruit, bagels with flavored cream cheese, milks, water and orange juice. Then, time for the meeting to start....what a privilege it was to meet with Carole Mikita, Stake Relief Society Presidency and President Porter to have a prayer before the meeting started so we could calm down and put us in the mind frame to teach and be taught. Carole Mikita is truly an elect lady who has such a strong testimony of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.. of which she is more than willing to share with anyone and everyone. She is congenial and truly loves all sisters, wants the best for everyone. We were spiritually fed by her testimony and life's experiences...her humility and love for the gospel were felt by all and we were richly blessed for being at this conference. Then the workshops! We had 4 to pick from...you would pick 2 to attend. What a wonderful group of sisters willing to share with us their knowledge and testimonies....we are so grateful to them, they took time out of busy schedules and away from their families to teach us those things that will eventually bring us to Eternal life with our families. We love these sisters, as well as those who were in attendance. The Lord in mindful of all of us individually...he knows of our wants and righteous desires..he will bless us and teach us everything we need to know to return to Him...we are so blessed to have the knowledge we have and should share it at any time... it is our privilege to know those things we do and our responsibility to share it with those who don't....I truly have a testimony of the Gospel...being in the Stake Relief Society and a part of planning such a wonderful day, I can tell you with no uncertain terms that He had a hand in everything that happened today...as a matter of fact, everything that did happen was from Him to enrich our lives and strengthen our families..it's was a privilege to be a part of this great day and feel the spirit that was with us...thanks to all those who helped make this a successful day..including our husbands, what great men they are and so willing to follow directions, keep everything running while we were busy, and be there to help us at any time....also thanks to my daughter Staci...I can't tell you the great help she was to us this year and last...luv you guys tons.

Hunter Central Stake Women's Conference......
Tomorrow is our Hunter Central Stake Women's conference 2009...I am the 2nd counselor in the Stake Relief Society Presidency and just love this time of year...I have always loved Women's Conference, but for the last 2 years I have been a part of planning and preparing...what an experience that has been. We get together, it seemed like around August and talked about topics, who we would love to have as our guest speaker, what we want those sisters of our stake to come away with. We want these precious 4 hours of their time to be full of spiritual and mindful lessons that will help them be eternal families....that they will benefit from those wonderful presenters and take home with them the desire to strengthen their families and move forward with love for our Savior Jesus Christ. It is such a spiritual experience for me to sit with these 3 ladies and feel of their love for the sisters in our Stake, how the Lord directs our every decision as to what, where and who we have teach them principles that will help them and their families...it's a testimonial to me every time we decide something and someone and it falls into place...Our Father in Heaven is aware of our sisters and knows what they need to hear and whom they need to hear it from.....I am really excited for our guest speaker sister Carole Mikita who is senior reporter on KSL-TV who specifically covers religion and the arts. She also produces and writes documentaries for KSL Television Programming that air twice a year during LDS General Conference.....she has been so wonderful and willing to come and teach and share with us her experiences and lessons learned...then our workshops and presenters will be the icing on the cake...I am thrilled and ready to be taught....just a few pictures of the decorations ready for tomorrow....it will be a good day.

Expect the Unexpected...................
Will miracles never cease!! Gary and I had a "sleepless night in West Valley" worrying about breaking the news to Grandma that we were putting her in a Care Facility...we had it all worked out..we would drive to Ogden, drop Rob off at Trevor and Staci's then drive to Washington Terrace, park, explain to Grandma her new living arrangements...then try to help her hopefully understand reasons she needed to stay...try to help her in any way we could.....(she can be a very cantankerous woman and we expected it to be pretty bad) To our happy surprise, she was totally understanding...she said she knew this day would come that she understood why she needed to stay and that she would be happy here...on and on...very positive and ok with it all. We decorated her room with recognizable things to make her feel at home..(bedspread, blankets pillows, pictures, nic nac's) Helped her get somewhat adjusted etc. I am going out again tomorrow with a couple things I forgot that will help her adjust as well and at that time I will take some pictures and post them.....just keep her in your prayers, she will need a little extra support but is willing to do her part...Thanks Grandma for making this ok....it was a hard decision
